About Bryan Ohno
In 1988, Ohno opened C-2 Gallery in Tokyo which he featured New York's fine art prints including Warhol, Johns and Mapplethorpe. During this time, he also introduced Dale Chihuly to the Japanese art world. He was later asked to join Dale Chihuly in 1991 as business manager to expand his exhibition/collecting opportunities in Asia, and to orchestrate US media relations. In 1996, he opened the Bryan Ohno Gallery in Pioneer Square, and curated over 100 exhibitions, most notably, Isamu Noguchi, Lynda Benglis and Albert Paley. After 10 years, Ohno opted for a new direction in art, and began working more closely with artists in their career development. He is actively developing new ways to engage artists in the urban architectural setting. Over 100,000 visitors witnessed the 2008 West Edge Sculpture exhibition he curated in downtown Seattle. Most recently, Ohno directed the successful MadArt Window Art Project, which showcased 18 window art installations in the merchant stores of Madison Park.
